Guy and I knew we wanted to get married in Bristol and after a thorough search of local venues we settled on the Lord Mayor’s Mansion in Clifton, which proved to be a wonderful location. Allowing for the possibility of typically dreadful British October weather, we found a venue with lots of inside space, though fortunately, it was unseasonably warm and dry so were able to spend a good part of the day outside.
With the venue booked, I knew the next big challenge was the dress. I looked around a lot online but, having heard so many times that we don’t end up with the type of dress we imagine I was determined to keep an open mind. Having tried on a dozen different dresses I finally found mine. I wasn’t sure at first as it was a sample gown so I knew it would need quite a bit of alteration, but when I put it on I just knew.

The three months until my first fitting were nerve wracking – would it be as I remembered, would I still like it? But once the process started, it was fantastic. I was showed all the options as we went along and understood exactly . In the end I had a dress that fitted perfectly and when I put it on that morning with the help of my bridesmaids (there were a lot of buttons!) I could not have imagined getting married in any other dress. Thank you so much Clifton Brides for helping to make the day so special.
